1. Negotiation Strategies: The art of negotiating involves finding a balance between achieving the best possible result, while at the same time establishing a mutually beneficial working relationship with your counterparts. First we will discuss Negotiation Strategies.

2. The Cola Company Dilemma: I asked you to think about the dilemma presented in yesterday's lecture. In your groups, work through the negotiation strategies handout as it applies to this dilemma.

3. Language Functions: Before we tackle another dilemma, let's look at some Language Functions for Negotiation.

4. A Negotiation Dilemma: Remember that people who view diversity as a source of richness and strength for the organization can help bring a wide range of benefits to their organization. A person who is knowledgeable about, and comfortable with, different cultures is a more effective negotiator because he or she can avoid misunderstandings and tap into a greater variety of viewpoints, stratagems and experiences that a diverse culture provides. Consider the "Heart Transplant Exercise" with your teams. See if you can negotiate an agreement.
